This is a significantly more complete sequel, and we’ll almost certainly see a third entry. So many of its quests deliver more than just open world fluff, but Aloy’s uninspired arc could’ve been more. So much of its world is a joy to inhabit. It’s clear that Horizon Forbidden West considers itself more than just an action adventure game with cool weapons, robots and climbing, though. Despite a pretty plodding start, the game somehow finds a way to dole out new toys throughout the adventure. And the game constantly gives you new tools and abilities to experiment with. A shameless but ultimately good lesson learned (see: stolen) from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Elsewhere a Shieldwing energy glider, which means you can fling yourself off of any high surface or ledge and gently glide to your destination. Aloy can climb a broader range of surfaces so that the beautiful world suddenly feels all the more interactive. That openness is helped by a ton of new traversal mechanics as well. There’s still that here, but it’s a lot less of a blight on the overall experience. It means you’re much less distracted and overwhelmed by open-world filler. Heading out on one of the many side quests actually feels like its own self-contained little story arc – similar to how The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 handled optional content. Quests are far more varied and well-written this time around. None of this matters that much if you’re happy just investing in a big open world with a load of quests, collectibles and RPG systems to enjoy. Aloy’s arc is emphatically plot first, character second though, and it’s disappointingly thin as a result. You’ll occasionally see her in moments of peril, and Ashly Burch’s performance sells the individual moments well enough. Although these traits are totally fine in and of themselves, there’s no real development in Aloy from start to finish. It is written by User:Kaboo08, who also is writting Saving the Clans, and Warrior Characters In (drumroll please): The Burger Joint. He is torn between his two forbidden loves. Other people around her even comment on her big-headedness and stubborn attitude. in: Fan Fictions Torn and Forbidden View source This story is about Jayfeather. Put simply: Ellie changed, but Aloy doesn’t in Forbidden West.
